Often people find themselves in possession of a stamp collection created by a family member or friend and do not know how to dispose of it. Donations of stamp collections to the Spellman Museum are a wonderful way to extend the pleasure of the hobby.
Stamps donated to the museum may be used for free packets given to children who visit, used in public programs to encourage stamp collecting and learning with stamps, and sold in the Museum Store to support museum programs. Stamps sold in the Museum Store recycle material to collectors of every age. Donations of philatelic literature are also welcome to be added to the Library or sold in the Museum Store.
Often stamps collector's interests evolve and change. Donations and bequests to the Spellman Museum of collections, special philatelic studies, and literature offer another way to recycle a lifetime of knowledge gained and collecting pleasure. Donations accessioned into the Spellman Museum collection are available to the public through the museum's Collection Viewing service, a regular schedule of exhibitions, and through the Library.
Donations of stamp collections and literature to the Spellman Museum are tax deductible. For further information concerning philatelic donations to the Spellman Museum, call (781) 768-7331.
